About the position: The Registered Dental Hygienist is responsible for performing a variety of chair side duties in support of ongoing dental procedures. Primary responsibilities include performing visual and tactile dental and periodontal assessments; completing dental prophylaxis; performing soft tissue curettage; administering topical anesthesia; placing and removing periodontal dressings; removing surgical sutures; preparing and restocking treatment rooms; sharpening and sterilizing dental instruments; performing root planning; studying and interpreting cast impressions; applying pit and fissure sealants; administering fluoride treatments; fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances; placing, carving, and finishing amalgam restorations; removing cement from crowns and bridges; developing and viewing x-rays; recording vital signs and medical and dental histories; charting in patient records; completing oral cancer screenings; assisting with patient care including operative, endodontics, preventive, oral surgery, etc.; assisting with post-treatment patient education and instructions; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma, current CPR certification, current license to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Georgia, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a personable and professional demeanor are required. Knowledge of infection control and bloodborne pathogen exposure control measures, electronic health information management and dental software programs, and relevant HIPAA rules and regulations required. Two years of previous clinical experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced office strongly preferred.

Compensation: This is a full-time hourly position. Salary is competitive and dependent on qualifications. There are significant production and performance incentive opportunities available to supplement salary.
